BEGINNING CHOIR (VOCAL MUSIC 1)

The ensemble performs choral literature of different genres at two concerts a year (winter & spring). The course content includes learning basic vocal technique and music theory concepts. Students will learn solfege, notational skills, and the basics of sight reading.

  • GRADE LEVEL: 9-12
  • PREREQUISITES: None

INTERMEDIATE CHOIR (VOCAL MUSIC 2)

The curriculum is based on intermediate concepts of vocal fundamentals and music theory. Emphasis will be placed on intervals, scales, and sight reading. Students will perform choral literature of all genres at two concerts a year (winter and spring).

  • GRADE LEVEL: 9-12
  • PREREQUISITES: Audition and former choral experience or Beginning Choir

CONCERT CHOIR (ADVANCED) (VOCAL MUSIC 3)

This course is a select choir, open by audition to students with a proficiency in vocal and sight reading skills. The choir performs choral literature of all genres at two concerts a year (winter and spring) and selected festivals. Students will explore advanced concepts of music theory relating to tonality, vocal technique, and sight reading. Only students from advanced may audition for Chamber Choir.
